Printable Target For Improved Trigger Control, Finding Your Perfect Grip, And Ideal Finger Position On The Trigger

I’ve got a crazy drill for you that uses a rubber band and a $.99 cent laser pointer and a free print-at-home target you can download below that will help you answer the age-old questions of how hard to grip your gun, where to put your finger on the trigger, and how fast to press the trigger.

It’d be awesome if there was a single correct answer that would work with every shooter and every gun, but there’s not.

The reality is that the perfect tightness of grip for you, where you should put YOUR finger on the trigger of YOUR gun, and how fast to press the trigger is whatever combination lets you press the trigger without moving your sights off of your intended target.

And the drill and target I’m going to share with you today is going to quickly and easily help you figure out the answer to that question.

To download the target, click the image below to open it and then save it.  It’s a PDF so DO NOT try right clicking and saving the image…it’ll be tiny.

You might be wondering why I hold the pistol at chest level and don’t use the sights.  There are a couple of reasons.

First, it helps to isolate variables.  If we can forget about the sights and just focus on trigger control, a lot of times it makes it easier to learn trigger control faster.

Second, pistol bore sights aren’t always accurate.  And when you hold a Glock out of battery, the barrel points significantly higher than the sights.  In both cases, it’s less frustrating to completely ignore the sights for this drill.

This drill and target came from the Draw Stroke Mastery program.  Draw Stroke Mastery uses a combination of cutting edge neuroscience and super simple drills like this one to help you train smarter and get more training done in less time than what’s possible with other training methods.  If it takes you longer than a second to react and put accurate hits on target, you need to learn more now by going >HERE<
