When I found out that I was going to have to wear a mask to go to Costco, I pulled out my winter running mask (the Un-Mask), pulled out the filter, and went.

Here's How It Works
The Un-Mask is an exercise mask that satisfies the face-covering requirements in most parts of the country. It's a neoprene mask with several large holes and a REMOVABLE 5-layer filter that includes an activated carbon charcoal layer.

Well, I have worn a mask (called an altitude Training Mask) for years that makes it harder to breathe and trains wearers to breathe more efficiently, gain more control of the limbic system, and use oxygen more efficiently.
You see, 61% of people are "mouth breathers" and when people habitually take shallow breaths through their mouth, all sorts of bad things happen...
Nitric oxide levels drop
Immune function drops
Blood pressure goes up
Sleep apnea events go up
So, when people who normally don't breathe enough to exchange CO2 for O2 start wearing a mask without improving how they breathe, bad things happen. Headaches, confusion, dizziness, etc.
What this means for you is this...
If you need to wear a mask and want to breathe without ANY resistance, just wear the Un-Mask without the filter.
All of the holes make it almost effortless to breathe. It doesn't filter any more than pulling your t-shirt over your mouth, but if you're not sick and just wearing a face covering to keep the mask Nazis happy, then it's a great option.
